Central Farmers to Host Community Blood Drive to Improve Local Supply

Join Central Farmers Coop in Marion on Monday, September 24 for a community blood drive with Community Blood Bank.  The bloodmobile will be there from 8:00 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  The blood donating will keep supplies healthy going into the fall season and save local lives.

“Community Blood Bank is a joint cooperative of Sanford USD Medical Center and Avera McKennan Hospital, states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank.  “We unlike other blood bank entities as we are owned by the hospitals we serve.  The only way to keep blood local in the area is to donate with Community Blood Bank when it comes to Marion.  We encourage first time donors as well as those that have donated multiple times.”

Donor must be at least 16 years old and weigh 110 lbs. or more.  It is recommended that person eat prior to donating blood.  For more info. log onto our website at www.cbblifeblood.org.
