Sioux Falls, SD-Community Blood Bank, KELO Radio, Camille’s Sidewalk Café and the South Dakota Pork Producers Council will host the annual “Rise and Shine” community blood drive on Friday, July 28 from 6:30 am to 11:00 am at Camille’s Sidewalk Café (corner of 41st St. & Grange Ave). All blood donations will benefit the summer blood supply for local Sioux Falls hospitals.
“This blood drive is scheduled during the most critical time of the summer,” states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “Community support is immensely important for this event, as the success of the event ensures the availability of blood to assist in the treatment of surgery, trauma, cancer and burn patients. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Sioux Falls area patients since 1976 and encourage the community to help us by donating on the bloodmobile on Friday, July 28.”
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating blood. For more information log onto www.cbblifeblood.org or call Community Blood Bank at 331-3222.
