GreatLife to Provide Recognize Donors and Local Blood Supply During Critical Shortage

GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness

With all of the challenges involved in maintaining a strong blood supply during the COVID pandemic, GreatLife has partnered with Community Blood Bank to provide a thank you to community members that have provided life saving blood donations and hope to our patients. All those donating blood at Community Blood Bank’s donor room locations November 9 through December 31 will receive a certificate for a free 7 day membership to GreatLife Fitness Clubs in the area. The certificate will be available to redeem at the convenience of the donor and their schedule.

“The uncertainty of this time, social distancing policies and high demand for blood has kept us at a critical need status for blood donations in our local hospitals, including Avera McKennan, Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls V.A. Medical Center, Avera Heart Hospital, Sanford Children’s Hospital and 30 other local hospitals,” states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “We are excited to be able to partner with GreatLife to offer a thank you to our loyal blood donors that provide one of the cornerstones to our medical community. We have seen little improvement in strengthening the overall blood supply, as blood usage is at its highest within in the last five years. We are grateful for all of the support that has been provided by so many and encourage those that haven’t had a chance to donate, as well as first time donors, to consider donating to support the needs of those patients that require blood transfusions for their survival.”
