Sanford Luverne to Help Low Blood Supplies

Adrian, MN- Community Blood Bank will be hosting two community blood drives in the area to ensure an adequate blood supply for the community into the month of March.  The Adrian community blood drive is scheduled for Monday, March 11 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Adrian Ambulance Garage.  The Luverne community blood drive is scheduled on Friday, March 15 from 7:00 am to 10:30 am and 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  All blood donations will stay local for local use with all blood types in immediate need.

“We have seen a drastic decrease in blood donations due to poor weather conditions for the last several weeks.  Many blood drives have been cancelled reducing the overall collections by 42%.  Our hope is to see a strong showing from the community through blood donation at this event, states Rita Nelson, Community Blood Bank. “Volunteers coming forward to donate blood is the only way to secure the blood supply for the Adrian, Worthington and Luverne area.  Giving blood with Community Blood Bank will directly impact the lives of patients in need.  Community Blood Bank is the only local blood source and is not associated with other blood bank entities.”

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health.  It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.  Please bring an ID with you at the time of donation.  For more information log onto www.cbblifeblood.org, call Community Blood Bank at 1-877-877-3070 or call Adrian Clinic at 507-483-2668 or Sanford Luverne at 507-449-1209.
