Sanford Worthington to Celebrate 3000th Blood Donation

Blood donations impact lives three fold.  When a person gives one pint of blood the blood is then separated into platelets, plasma and red blood cells.  Sanford Worthington and the Worthington community celebrate the life saving acts of helping up to 9,000 patients throughout the 18 years of partnering with Community Blood Bank.  The celebration will take place on Thursday, November 2 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Sanford Worthington.

“We are so grateful for those making the choice to give blood with their local blood supplier throughout the years,”  states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank.  With the support of volunteers through the area, a community is impacted and many patients have benefited from amazing generosity.  Sanford Worthington is a tremendous community partner that truly makes the difference.”

Donors must be at least 16 years old and weigh 110 lbs. or more.  It is recommended that donors eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.  Please bring a valid I.D. to the blood drive event.  All those giving blood will receive a special thank you gift and refreshments.
