Adrian, MN – Sanford Health Adrian Clinic and Community Blood Bank will host a community blood drive event on Wednesday, March 8 between 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Adrian Ambulance Building. The public will have an opportunity to donate blood to help local patients’ at all local hospitals. Donors can schedule an appointment by logging into cbblifeblood.org, selecting “events” and Adrian Community or call 507-483-2668. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged.
“With severe weather occurring over many weeks, we have experience a loss of over 1,000 donations of blood, placing us into a critical blood shortage,” said Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “Among those who benefit from donated blood are trauma, burn victims, cancer patients, and persons undergoing surgery. You can donate blood every 56 days and provide hope to local patients in need. Please give blood at this important community blood drive.”
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating.
