Watertown Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive Rescheduled February 10th

Watertown, SD- Community Blood Bank continues to struggle with a severe blood shortage as we move into 2023. Currently, the blood bank is critical for all blood types. Please join Watertown Fire Rescue and the Police Department for the Heroes Behind the Badges blood drive on Friday, February 10th between 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Watertown Convention Center (1901 9th Ave. SW). You can schedule your donation by logging into www.cbblifeblood.org, select “events”, February 10th, and Watertown Heroes Behind the Badges. All who donate will receive a $5 Beef Bucks, a t-shirt, and a chance to win (1) of 6 $100 beef bundles, compliments of Dakota Butcher, South Dakota Beef Council Industry, Watertown Hy-Vee, County Fair Foods, Coteau Hills Cattleman’s Association, Moe’s Feed Lot LLC, and Watertown Radio.

“This friendly competition helps provide lifesaving blood for Prairie Lakes Healthcare System and the local area, as well as demonstrating support for the heroes in the Watertown community. The need for blood donors is heightened as it become even more difficult to collect blood with cold, flu, and COVID being prevalent at the time. Every day, someone in our community may need blood, don’t wait until a tragedy happens, donate today,” states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “It is our hope that we will see the community answer our pleas and come out to give blood through this challenging time. Please donate blood when the bloodmobile is at the Watertown Convention Center during the Heroes Behind the Badges.”

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health.  It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.  Please bring an ID with you at the time of donation. For more information log onto www.cbblifeblood.org.

Community Blood Bank is not affiliated with other blood bank organizations and takes pride in being a self-sufficient organization thanks to the generosity of our local blood donors.
