Watertown, SD- Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, Watertown Radio, HyVee, and Community Blood Bank will host the 9th Annual All American community blood drive on Thursday, June 30th from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Friday, July 1st from 7:00am to 1:00pm at the Watertown Mall (east entrance). All blood types are in need to help with the holiday blood supply!
“Community Blood Bank provides all blood and blood products needs to Prairie Lakes Healthcare System so it is very important to see a strong collection during this blood drive to an adequate blood supply for the holiday weekend,” states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “Please consider donating blood when we are at the Watertown Mall June 30th and July 1st. Your donating will help save patients’ lives at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System throughout the holiday.”
Donors donating blood on either June 30th or July 1st will receive a special commemorative ALL AMERICAN BLOOD DONOR t-shirt and a free lunch, compliments of Hy-Vee, Watertown. For those who donate blood on July 1st between the hours of 7:00 am to 9:00 am we will have free coffee and cinnamon rolls. Come out to visit with KWAT’s “What’s Up” on Friday beginning at 8:30 am. They will be broadcasting live from the blood drive.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health. Please bring an ID with you. It is recommended that donors eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating blood.
