Sioux Falls, SD- Avera Careflight and Sanford AirMed are joining forces to support the struggle in maintaining a stable blood supply for our community. A friendly competition between the departments, coined “Flying for Life,” will begin Monday, May 15 and run through Saturday, May 20. KELOLAND Television will officially kick off the annual event at their studio on Monday, May 15 between 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donors will have an opportunity to show their support of some of our community’s essential services and help provide lifesaving blood donations for community patients.

Volunteers can schedule their donation and impact local lives by going to www.cbblifeblood.org, click on “News” and “Flying for Life” or call 605-331-3222 / toll free: 877-877-3070. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. Please bring an ID with you at the time of donation.
