Sioux Falls, SD – Twenty-five years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Community Blood Bank is inviting the community to honor the memory of those lost by giving something that saves lives today: blood.
To mark this solemn anniversary, Community Blood Bank will host a special event on September 10 and 11 at the Sanford USD Medical Center donor room as a tribute to the victims, survivors, and first responders of 9/11, and a call to action for community members to help meet the urgent, ongoing need for blood in local hospitals.
“Twenty-five years ago, our nation watched people run toward danger to help total strangers,” said Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “This event is a way for our community to carry that same spirit of service forward, turning a day of remembrance into a day of giving that will directly save lives right here at home.”
