Brookings, SD — SDSU is calling on its student community to step up, roll up their sleeves, and make a life-changing difference. The SDSU Campus Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM both days with donor registration located in the Student Union – Main Street. All those who donate will receive a $20 Starbucks gift card as a thank you. Schedule a donation by logging into www.cbblifeblood.org, selecting “Donate Now,” “Blood Drive Calendar,” and chose either March 25th or 26th. Donors may also call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. Blood transfusions cannot be manufactured in a lab or sourced from anywhere else, they can only be provided by the special volunteers who come forward to improve and save lives. One donation can help up to three patients, and the need for blood is constant, every single day.
As members of the SDSU community, students have a unique and powerful opportunity to be those volunteers. Your single act of generosity on campus can mean the difference between life and death for patients in local hospitals, new mothers, accident survivors, cancer patients, and children, right here in Brookings, SD.
No appointment is necessary — simply show up at the campus blood drive location during the posted hours, ready to donate. The process is safe, supervised by medical professionals, and typically takes less than an hour from start to finish.
