Sioux Falls, SD – Community Blood Bank, in collaboration with Sanford USD Medical Center and Avera McKennan Hospital, proudly announces the inauguration of its third donor center at 1035 S. Highline Pl, Sioux Falls, SD. The official opening will take place on Wednesday, December 13th, with varied collection hours during the initial six weeks of operation. Kenneth Versteeg, Executive Director of Community Blood Bank, highlights the significance of this new center: “The expansion to our new location reflects our commitment to meeting the growing needs of our community, especially on the eastside and surrounding areas such as Brandon, Harrisburg, Larchwood, Rock Rapids, Canton, and more. Our objective is to ensure a stable blood supply for our area hospitals and accommodate the evolving work landscape where more people are operating from home. This center offers convenient appointment scheduling, easy parking, and the opportunity for donors to make a significant impact on local patients within just 30 minutes.”
Versteeg adds, “We are thrilled to provide this opportunity in a highly accessible location, inviting both new and existing donors to contribute to saving lives in our community. Our aspiration is for this center to become a hub where residents can generously support Sioux Falls area patients, knowing their donation could potentially save the lives of their family, friends, neighbors, and fellow community members.”
Donors can conveniently schedule their appointments by visiting cbblifeblood.org, selecting “Donate Now,” and choosing the “Dawley Farm Donor Center.” Dates, operational hours, and special promotions will be available on the website. Eligible donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 lbs, and be in good general health. Adequate hydration and a nutritious meal before donation are recommended.
